Dear Santa
For Christmas this year I don't want much for myself a new pair of cross trainers will do or I can just wait and buy them myself, its ok.
But could I please ask that all the people of the world remember that without diversity we learn little, without understanding we lack acceptance and without love of our fellow man, we are bitter...So can you sprinkle some understanding and spray some some love about in your nocturnal travels?
Could you help the so called leaders of this world understand that what they think is right is not always right and they are only human...No one can be expected to be infallible ( except God/Allah/ Yaweh and maybe the mortal leaders of all faiths) So some humility for them would be nice too.
Could we please, perhaps, have no disasters...Natural or manmade for 2006, just so the world can get itself sorted out a bit more. It has been proven we are pretty inept sometimes but mostly we are a generous , caring, compassionate society...Despite some leaders lack of response to some things.
Can I please ask that people realise that the world is a melting pot of differing opinions and that to enforce your beliefs or opinions on others does not make it the right one. Respect of others beliefs and understanding of cultural, religious, and other differences would go a long way to solving our troubles, I think.
Can you please make sure all the children of the world get something tomorrow night? Even if it is something little like a special shell upon a beach or some extra food, toys and such mean little when you have nothing.
For my family , could my children enjoy good health and happiness, and my special "sausage" enjoy his first year at school with minimum disruption, my first born learn that best friends do not stay best friends forever and my youngest continue to be a source of utter amazement to us all with his antics. For my soulmate, my friend, my lover, my eternal love I wish only happiness and health and the occasional sleep in.
For my friends, close and afar, I wish them all the joys of Christmas in the true spirit in which it is meant to be , that they enjoy family, friends, and fine health along with the occasional overeating/overdrinking of what ever they chose to indulge in.
A lot to ask for I know, Santa, and you are busy but without your help with some of the above, I fear for the joy of Christmas future
Thanks
Merry Christmas
Supamum ( u know who I am)
PS Biscuits and milk under the tree, carrots and reindeer food on the lawn as usual

MERRY BLOODY CHRISTMAS
I am ropable today, some person/s without any sense of responsibility or concern for others saw fit to STEAL the 3 foot high bear light we had in our garden. The bear was dressed in a Santa suit and had a candle light which they left behind ( so if you've stolen if for your own garden I will find you next year cause you won't have the candle, revenge is a meal best eaten cold so watch out, arsehole)
We bought the light for the kids as do many people who put up lights and displays, for our kids and the neighborhood kids and the ones who visit every night looking at the lights in the court...Not to win any competition, just for the Christmas spirit of it.
Now I have a 3 year old who wants his teddy back, a 5 year old who wants the other lights down in case someone steals them too and a disillusioned and jaded 8 year old who wonders "why some one would do that because its only for the kids to look at"
SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THE ARSEHOLE, BASTARD, DICK BRAIN WHO HASN'T THE SENSE TO SEE HOW THEIR PRANK HAS AFFECTED OTHERS....THEY CUT THE WIRE SO THEY COULD NOT USE IT EVEN WITHOUT MASSIVE REPAIRS AND THEY WENT TO SO MUCH TROUBLE TO REMOVE IT AS IT WAS TIED TO A STAKE TO HELP PREVENT THIS.
I WON'T BE GETTING ANOTHER AND WILL THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT DISPLAYS NEXT YEAR AS WE HAVE ALREADY HAD A WOODEN ELF STOLEN THIS YEAR ALSO.
MAYBE NEXT YEAR ...NO DISPLAY, LET'S WRECK IT FOR EVERYONE EH??
PS: And we just discovered they took the "Santa please stop here" light and a neighbors deer all were cut and are useless to any one really...senseless, just senseless

Almost years end and a boy has grown............
I have been remiss and placing meme's on my posts instead of saying stuff...Its just I have sooooo much to say and meme's were nice and easy, plus I do have a love affair with them and cannot help myself if I find one or am tagged for one.
2005 is coming to a close and Christmas is upon us. Mr 5 had his kindergarten pageant the other day and he was one of the three wise men and looked very WISE indeed. The teachers did a wonderful job with the kids for the concert and the kids loved the "chacha cha" song. I watched him as he and the other wise men we're prompted by the kinder assistant to take their places, as he happily joined in the singing of the "chachacha" song but not the other songs. I watched him as he took his cues from one of the aides as to where he was to sit and what he was to do. I watched as my little boy tried to keep up with the actions of the song he so dearly loved and as he did a bloody good job of it too and I cried.
I cried for all the seemingly insurmountable hurdles I recognised which we have almost overcome, I cried for the fact that his innocence once did not allow him to know he was not as able as other children and that innocence is lost now, I cried because I realise the vast differences in my children as Mr 3 has the speech ability now that Mr 5 currently has. I cried for all the struggles he has had to contend with just to make himself understood. For all the struggles yet to come. Most of all I cried because he is at a stage I was once told he would not attain...That of speaking almost coherently, being able to sit and socialise, and about to attend mainstream school.
He may not be able to speak fluently as you and I know it to be, but in the world of children he manages to make his ideas clear enough for others to follow. I was told he may never be able to have fully comprehensible speech...Well, we will prove them wrong for on the day he graduates Grade Six in 2011 he will read the graduation poem I wrote for the Grade Sixs at the school. This decision is usually left up to the Grade sixs to decide but I will "pull rank" as the author and ask that he read it that year.
I have seen him grow into a little boy who loves Buzz, StarWars, "cool" cars, and who tries hard to instigate play with others, I am glad in a way that none of the children he went to kinder with are attending school with him; yet it is sad. He has a wonderful support network at school with some older boys who often play with him at school and have asked about his speech and behavior and have shown great understanding and patience with him...For them I am very grateful. He also has some siblings of his sisters friends who are in the same class as him next year and he knows these children too. He is my "Sausage Chops" who is now a "big school boy", he has been a constant wonder this year to myself, his therapists, teachers and family and I can only hope that he continues to grow and in growing, to learn.

Here I am AGAIN!!!
Sorry been busy folks...What's new?, who isn't? And who cares? You say...Well if you said the last comment you can leave the room now, go on, you are not wanted here with your swarmy comments..Have they gone? Good. Nasty little piece that one, not needed here at all!!
Now to continue I have been busy, we went to Portland in Saturday because the PUPPY was ready to come home!!!!* cheers, applause and standing ovation* And we stayed at a FANTASTIC place called Trewalla Springs Farm which is just out towards Cape Bridgewater. The farms house is circa 1850;s and the owners live there we stayed in the school house which still has the black boards and is just great. They have ostriches ( Zambia is a bit agro but fun to watch) emus, Clydesdayles, shetlands, ducks, geese, dogs, deer and the children can feed them all (except Zambia who's agro) they even hitch up the shetland to a jinker and take the kids for rides..Its grand and as far as costs go very very reasonable...So if you've children and are headed that way visit Marilyn and Neill...Oh and Marilyn just happens top be a intergration aide a the local school so we had lots to discuss about special needs kids.
The pup is GREAT and slept most of the way home on Sunday, he is very smart and has take to the family as if he has always been here, Jemma , our other dog has welcomed him and will tolerate his puppy antics until a point ( fair enough) then tells him to be on his way and he takes note and goes to find something else to pester....Like a tree or the swing usually something bigger than him. We have called him Lawson, after Henry Lawson, his full title is something like Cutlers Lawson Silhouette or such.

Puppies...............................................
Equal representation = true representation
Local elections are all over bar the shouting, we voted, we decided, we overcame. After years of an inequitable situation where the "representation" of women in the community was left up to the nuances of MEN...We now have not ONE but TWO female representatives on Council. Well done to Ann Potter (Jackson Ward) and Moya White (Aitken Ward)!!!
The concept of real independent, representation stems not from the ideal of non alignment with party polices or guidelines but from the representative taking an advocating role for groups and individuals as well as a spokesperson and representative role for the community who elected them. This is not to say that every little upset and dispute can be solved by the Councillor, but that people have a sounding board who can often explain processes and assist in minimising later problems in the matter. Many people do not realise that Crs have NO control over Council employees. Having female representative allows for accessiblity to a wider part of the community who may not have spoken out before or felt they had true representation.
Councillors who attempt to push their own issues in the guise of the communities issues have a mistaken understanding of their role as a REPRESENTATIVE. The use of a public office, be it local, State or Federal, for the grandstanding and pushing of ones personal agenda is an abuse of the faith placed in a person by the electorate.
I , for one, am glad we now have more women on Council..I'd like to see more but I think it is an unenviable position to take on the role as advocate and spokesperson for so many people with diverse opinions. But I am grateful to those who do, they represent the mother, the female form, and often the voice of reason, they offer another view, another opinion that is not dominated by a tetstorone generated pissing contest.
** With apologies to all my male readers.

I played with Lego...........
I spent yesterday morning on "fruit duty" that's "Claytons fruit duty" , the fruit duty you do when there is no fruit...But I digress. I was on duty at Mr5's kinder which means Mr 3 gets to be a big boy and attend also. I love fruit duty...This is shitting me... Let's call it kinder duty OK?? Like I said, I love kinder duty as it gives me an opportunity to watch Mr 5 in an environment outside of his control ( the kids are not additional needs and all speak well , apart for the two other additional needs kids there) to watch him communicate his needs and ideas to other and how they react and reciprocate (or not).
There is a new Lego set called "Action Man" which has propellers, wingsets, wheels and cockpits for construction of flying machines and space ship which George Lucas will never ,ever think of. Do you think I can find this set of Lego any where...Of course not!!!! It was amazing, the Lego set has been available for play during free time for weeks and all the kids gravitate to it, good thing they have quite a few sets or there'd be trouble. The concepts that these minds come up with and what they put on the "ships' is just beyond comprehension...Their minds are like blank paper and along comes an instrument of creation like a pen and a masterpiece is created. It was wondrous to watch and when asked to build something I could come no where near to the masterpieces these kids created.
I watched and helped some girls cut and paste some balls for a juggling clown, listened to them chatter and chatted with them...One is going to Italy on a cruise for a holiday at Christmas, she tells me...I was later told by the teacher this is a fib and she is only saying it because her friend did go on a cruise to Italy. One upmanship and competiveness starts at 4 it seems.
I was involved in a conspiracy to hide one of the teachers shoes, I built a landing pad with wooden blocks for a the spaceships, I painted funny pictures whilst they ate their snacks, I played with play dough, made cakes and pizzas and "ate" them, I coloured, read ,painted and kicked, climbed the fort (one child would not leave it when it was time to go back into the classroom) I had a ball...dunno about the kids but I had fun.

Nearly the years end....
Sadly, it is almost the years end and time will definitely fly for the remainder of the year. I still have to wait and see if Mr 5 has gained any funding at school, although given that he has had an one hour orientation session he, the teacher/s seem very aware of his limitations and asked about pencil grips (something they picked up on without my mentioning it) and if he signs at all for words he cannot pronounce. We did not encourage sign (Auslan or other) as it would allow him an "out" for trying to say the word...Whilst he understands some signs, he has never been encouraged to sign instead of speak.
I still have to source a speech pathologist(S/P) for him as he cannot access his s/p at EIP after he starts school and she is leaving to have a baby this week anyway. I want a private one anyway so they can attend meetings with the school and teachers and such...But many do not know what their client base is until December so he is on umpteen waiting lists. Some do not even call you back , even after 4 messages!!! And others you get references for from the Victorian Independant Speech pathologists Network and some of them are associated or work through bigger offices so if you pick a S/P based on credentials (what else would you choose them on...LOOKS?) You get a call back from an admin person who tries to allocate you one who has to drive by your town on the way to the office instead of the one you choose based on credentials!!!!!! If I want convenience I go to 7-11, if I want a S/P I pick the most relevant and experienced.
Mr 5 was very exited about his new, "whizz bang" school bag and I am thankful to the designer who has placed a drawstring net bag attachment on the side so drink bottles which are unsealed can leak happily everywhere but INSIDE the bag. We also have a art smock with racing cars on it and a library bag with rockets on it (I was told we could not use the Thomas Tank Engine library bag he has for kinder as" big boys at school don't do Thomas") we have shorts and polos for summer, his sisters old sports shorts will fit him and her tracksuit pants. I am leaving winter pants till later in term 2 as I am sure he has some growing to do. Shoes we will get in January as well as new ones for Miss 8, new runners for her and Mr 5 has a brand new pair of Nikes which a friend bought for her son but are the wrong size and for yet fit Mr 5 perfectly.
some people have Christmas decorations going up already, I think it is the influence of the shops who had lights and decos on sale as early as three weeks ago. I am dreading getting the lights out at they were put up in a rush last year and put away in almost as much haste. They seem to be a tangled puzzle which I know I have to tackle some time but keep finding other things to do , like cleaning the toilet, washing windows, digging garden beds...You get the picture.

Truth, fact and undeniabilty
I have been listenng and watching(listening in the car , watching the DVD) a concert by Melissa Etheridge. It was to launch her album "LUCKY" which is goodness knows how old. On it is a brillant song which is track 9 on the album and I think is called "Up and Down this Road I go" its about a guy who was on Flight 93 on Sept 11,2001. About how "he loved his mom, her loved his dad,he loved his home and he loved his man", its about "who you love is'nt who you are" , She sings of the fact that "you cannot change this , you cannot erase this , you cannot pretend this is not a truth" its about no matter who you are, or what label people put on you that we are all equal when it comes down to it.
I have always been a person who has accepted people on face value not creed, race, religion, sexual preference or any other aspects on which bias and hatred is fueled. This story goes a long way to proving that diversity is the key to our society, that it matters not what the diffference is (percieved or otherwise) it is acceptance which is the key. You don't need to understand it all, just accept that we are not all the same and regardless of that, we all have something to offer the world and sometimes it might just be sacrficing our life for others.
And for the record ,I have always liked Melissa Etheridges music, even before she "came out" and I have even more respect for her as a survivor of breast cancer.

You have to laugh............
Had a peek at SOL
Seems that very few people are talking on there of late, I mean views that women should be home with their kids, and they would not have time to run for Council as a mother...Well maybe others are better organised than some and can. If we all held to that belief, the rights our mothers fought for would be wasted. Other comments of the ilk that because you don't come on line to answer to questions you are denying the community access...So are the running mates and preferences of the commentator. Then a topic about ALP branch stacking, today's AGE newspaper reports the same in Govt. Looks like its a political pandemic!!!!!!!
Then there's the old furphy about paedophiles, well, its not the ones you know about you have to worry about it's the one you don't. I can hardly see the realistic application of the proposed "paedophile free zone" what before you can buy a house you need to agree to a police check?? Before you can move to the area and rent whilst building?? Untenable, and unachievable. Amoral and illegal. If people look out for their kids and take responsibility and teach them to
be aware, the risks are limited. Research shows that paedophiles work for months to gain trust of a victim, if the kids are aware they learn to be knowledgeable but not afraid of their own shadow.
And then there's the other stuff but I am tired now and if you wish to read it all, use the link on the side of the page and have a giggle
Don't forget to change you shirt, you might be on TV today!!!
