Schools, Forms, Information Nights

Days of phone calls
Evenings of discussions,
Nights of worry and wonder
Will he, won't he
Go to school next year
Not enough information, I fear
Can they do what they need to
In order to get him through
From one class to the next
without struggling, just doing his best
I really need each school to undertake my test...

I' d really like to conduct individual testing on all schools and staff to check their reactions to children with disabilities..Our children are tested to see which school, teaching program, etc best "suits their needs", what about testing the schools and staff for the same?

Testing for Suitability For TEACHING my Child
1) Are you willing to discuss with me and specialists alternative methods for teaching basic numeracy and literacy even if this may mean 2 lots of diverse curriculum?
2) If my child does not qualify for funding under any Govt aid program regardless of diagnosis are you still willing to undertake PSGs (Parent Support Group meetings) on a regular basis together with specialists and medical professionals?
3)Will you ensure that any anti bullying policy is strictly adhered to should my child be vilified by others at school?
4) Are you willing to conduct; in conjunction with the child's parents; an information session for interested parents of my child's classmates who may want to know about the condition/s of my child and the impact and advantages on the classroom?
5) Do you undertake not to discuss my child or their problems/issues with other adults in his presence?
6) Are you receptive to information from the parents, medical proffessionals and other specialists in regards to the child's abilities rather than you own impressions?
I could go on and on in regard to the many questions which parents have...If only we could test them the way the require our kids to be tested.
