10 Whys of Government

I oft wonder ( as do we all or is it just me??) about why Govt do what they do? I mean, I know why they tell us they do it and I have a fairly subjective ideal about why 75% of the so called "representatives" of the people are doing it. But why do Govt really do things?I decided to put down all the "whys" and just see if any answers are forthcoming at all. Not that I really expect Jolly Johnnie, Smirky Pete or Dumbo Downer to reply personally but you never know in the big world of cyberspace maybe a local Govt representative would like to take it up??

1. Why does this govt insist on changing systems which are in place and functional before they have a chance to prove themselves ( tax, social security)

2.Why do this govt need to know everything about us in every department (medicare no to centrelink, bank account details to ATO,)

3. Why do this Govt politicians hang about local areas before an election and disappear afterwards, never to be seen again?

4. Why does this govt see fit to ignore and remain silent about the constant,obvious routing of the petrol pricing system? Oh I know the answer to that BECAUSE WE PAY FOR THEIR BLOODY PETROL WITH OUR TAXES,IS WHY!!!!!!

5. Why does the govt believe everything the BUSH(IT) administration tells it?

6. Why doesn't it listen to the voices of the people who elected it when they say no to war, no it IR reform?

7. Why are all the "representatives of the people" barrister, company directors, doctors, plum in mouth tossers?

8. Why are not the people TRULY represented with teachers, drivers, cleaners,police, emergency services workers, nurses, aides, shop clerks, bank tellers, under 18 unemployed, those with disabilities, mothers?

9. Why do they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for research and information from consultants about areas when they need only to ASK THE PEOPLE WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THOSE AREAS instead

10. Why does this govt treat the people who help to carry this country with such disdain and disrespect? The carers of the ill and disabled, the low paid worker, the stay at home mums, the single mums, the sick, elderly and infirm?

I guess after all that I do know the answer after all........................
